The Seven Chairs

The Seven Chairs
Joey
December 11, 2009

One bright and sunny day, there were seven chairs in a plane because they were getting shipped to a store. The seven chairs as colorful as can be were all painted a beautiful colors, and they all had a number on it. The blue was one. The pink was two. The green was three. The yellow was four. The gold was five. The silver was six. The brown was seven. There was blue, pink, green, yellow, gold, silver, and brown. Then there was a nun named Mary. She is easy come, easy go. Mary loved different colors. Her favorite color is gold because when gold hits your eye, its like jumping into happiness. The other colors were not her cup of tea.

Then the plane collided head on with another plane. The chairs flopped out a hole as wide a a volcano. The chairs ended up in many places of the world. The first one ended up in a tree that was as scary looking as a monster. The second ended up on the great wall of China. The third ended up getting hit by a train. The forth ended up crashing through an old lady's house and landing on her cat. The fifth ended up in France right next to Mary. The sixth ended up in a pile of hungry fire ants. Then the seventh ended up in a forest and got eaten by mutated animals.

When Mary saw that gold number five chair, she felt like it was a prince standing there and waiting for her. It stayed right there. When she finally got there, she sat on it so fast she almost fell off. She closed her eyes and thought of how soft it was. Then the chair started moving. Mary felt like she was being pulled off the ground with the chair. She scattered off and saw it was floating up and up and up. She grabbed onto it's leg and pulled herself up until she sat on that comfortable seat again. The chair just kept going up.

When the chair finally came to a pause, then stopped floating she looked down and saw her two friends just starring at her like she was bizarre. They said she was playing with fire. She would not jump down. They just kept watching and watching! The chair has just hovering there in one spot. Mary said she was a rainbow. They finally said to jump down so they can catch her, but she refused. She said that her necklace was her friend. That stubborn nun would not come down. Her two unbelievable friends kept telling her to jump, but she would not attempt to even look down.

Soon after a week, Mary soon got as hungry and thirsty as a bear. So finally just when so was about to jump, she had a stroke, fell out of the chair, and cracked her head open and broke her neck. Just then her friends said ''well that's too bad, she should have jumped.''

My Birds

My Birds
November 12, 2009
By: Joey

I have two birds. Their names are Chloe and Papi. I got them as a present for the first day of school. They are zebra finches. They are very playful. Sometimes I let them out of their cage in my room so they can stretch their wings and get exercise. They eat a lot of food. I also give them treats when they are happy. My friend Yuri has zebra finches too. He has almost fifteen birds! That is because his had eggs. Mine will have them really soon. Yuri's birds had eggs every day but now they are getting old so they are not having as much. He also has four parakeets. Yuri's mother said he has a zoo! I can’t wait until I do!

When I first got my birds, I was walking home from school, and as I was opening the door to my house I herd chirping. I walked into my room to do homework, but the chirping got louder and louder. I really thought somebody was playing a trick on me. I slowly opened my bedroom door. My family was there and yelled SURPRISE! I screamed and almost fell. Then I saw a small little bird flying in a nice little cage. I went over and looked at the bird. I have always wanted a bird I said!

I looked at that small creature, in that small cage. I could not believe that it is all mine. I have wanted a bird for a year! My mother left a little note on the cage that said. Hi I am a zebra finch, what’s my name? I decided that I was going to name the bird Chloe. My Mother said if I wanted to get another bird and I said yes.

As we got to the pet store, we walked in and looked and picked out another zebra finch. I picked a boy. I told the lady who worked there that I wanted that one. She quickly opened the cage and grabbed him softly. She put him in a box and we went to the cash register. We gave the man at the cash register the money and then headed out the door. I thanked my mother about ten times.

As we pulled in our driveway, the car didn't even stop yet and I jumped out the door. I ran upstairs to my room. Then I slowly open my door, walked to the cage and put the bird in. I needed a name for him so I decided to name him Papi. While I was at the pet store, I got a few toys, treats, and a nice little straw house for them. I love my birds. Also as soon as I put Papi in the cage, they both flew together making this wonderful noise. Every day, I wake up to the sound of birds.

Christmas

Christmas

''Roof Roof went my dog.'' I didn't care though, so I went back to bed. Then my eyes slowly opened and I yelled ''It's Christmas Eve! As I woke up my parents, my brother and sister walked in. Then my other brother and sister pulled up in their car and came to the living room. We ate breakfast and were very eager for tomorrow morning to open our presents. But after a couple hours, our family went to my grandparents house.

As we walked in, we could smell the food cooking. There was a blast of heat from the fireplace. When we saw everyone, we were all so excited. We hugged everybody and then lined up to get some food. We went to the kitchen and we could see the mashed potatoes, gravy, glazed ham, roast beef, whole turkey, whole chicken, and last but not least the fruit. On holidays, we always make an edible arrangement. By the end of the day, since we have such a big family, all of the food is gone. For dessert, there is ice cream sundaes, chocolate fountains with marshmallows and fruit to dip in and Klondike bars.

We went and said ''Hello'' to everybody. Everyone cheered but we had no idea why. Then somebody yelled ''Now we can eat!" We all went ''oh'' then got a nice plate of food. Then when we got our food, we would say a little prayer thanking that everybody is healthy, thankful for that day, and all of the food.

At about 9 o'clock, we would go home, because my cousin always said ''the earlier you go to bed, the faster you get presents.'' We loved presents so eventually we would go open family presents tonight. We could hear the sound of the wrapping paper ripping. We didn't want too but if we were really tired, my grandpa said to sleep. We loved our family, but we had to get some sleep. The next day would go to my cousins house for lunch and dinner. I got a lot of things for Christmas. I got money and everything on my list. I love Christmas. I also love my family.
